Carmody, Irene Alberta It is with very heavy hearts, the family of Irene Alberta Carmody, announces her passing which occurred on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Atlantic Baptist Home. She has been reunited with her beloved husband James Murray "Mike" Carmody who passed on June 26, 2023. A service for Irene and Mike will take place at the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow in the reception centre. Interment will take place at the Central United Church Cemetery in Dunstaffnage. Born in Dunstaffnage, PE, on August 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Alberta (Bertie) Dennis. Predeceased by her sister-in-law, Betty Dennis (Wilf) and brother-in-law, Gordon Lorenz (Muriel). She is survived by her children, Philip (Dalyce), Shane (Carry), Doug (Lori), Jeff (Roxanne) and Michelle (Gerald); grandchildren, Michelyn, Chantel, Jenna, Eric (Marie-Pierre), Dayle, Evan (Niki), Brynn (Donny), Josh and Adam; great-grandchildren, Finn, Gabe, Adonis, Gabby, Griffin and Cyrus; a sister to Wilf Dennis and Muriel Lorenz (Edmonton); well as several nieces and nephews. Irene was a wonderful friend to many, including her "Golden Girls," was a long-standing member of IODE and supported numerous causes over the years. Mike worked in business sales for many years. He was a flight instructor at the PEI Flying Association, and later worked as a commissioner at the airport. Mike and Irene enjoyed many retirement years in Stanhope, winters in St. Pete's Beach and were always up for a dance or St. Paddy's Party.
