Patricia LARKIN — Moncton

Larkin, Patricia Age 81, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024 at the Moncton Hospital, NB. She was born in Frenchfort, PEI and was the daughter of the late William and Kathleen (Doyle) O'Connell. Patricia was a graduate of the Notre Dame Academy and the Prince of Wales College where she graduated with a Teachers diploma. She taught in various schools in PEI including six years in a single room school in Stanhope. In 1968 at a local dance, Patricia met Louis Larkin, who swept her off her feet and would marry one year later. Louis served with the Royal Canadian Air Force for 35 years and together they would relocate in the following years to Summerside, PEI, Cold Lake, Alberta, Trenton, Ontario, Greenwood, NS, and Riverview, NB. They were married for 53 years at the time of Louis' passing and were loving parents to their two sons, Michael and Bobby. As a family, they enjoyed many vacations on PEI, sporting events with their children, evenings at Patricia's favorite pizza restaurant and many visits with their grandchildren. Patricia leaves behind her son, Bobby (Lindsay) of Banff, AB; her daughter in law, Nicole Hogan of Toronto, ON; and was a kind and proud grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Sophie and Jack Larkin. Other family members include her sister, Mary Wisener (Paul) of Charlottetown, PEI; her brothers, Harry O'Connell (Arlene) of Darnley, PEI, Gerry O'Connell (Diane) of Stratford, PEI and Dr. Louis O'Connell of Ottawa, ON; brother in law, Danny (Lynn) Larkin of St. Peter's Bay, PEI; and sisters in law, Maureen and Florence Larkin of Charlottetown, PEI and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Louis (2022); son, Michael (2018); brothers, Maurice and Vincent O'Connell; and her sisters in law, Janet, Irene and Phyllis Larkin. There will be no visitation or funeral service per Patricia's wishes. Patricia and Louis' request to rest their ashes together will be honoured at a private memorial for immediate family.
