Betty Anne MACLEAN — Montague

Betty Anne MACLEAN — Montague

MacLean, Betty Anne With heavy hearts the family of Betty Anne MacLean (nee Stewart), age 94, of Little Sands, devoted and loving wife of 65 years to the late Capt. Malcolm Alexander MacLean, occurred with family by her side on Thursday evening, September 12, 2024, at the Kings County Memorial Hospital. Betty was one of the friendliest and kindest people that you'd ever meet. She always had a beaming smile for friends, family and strangers alike and throughout her life she put everyone else's interests before her own. She also had a keen interest in the history of the local people and communities and could chat for hours about "the old days." Despite her claims that her memory was failing, her mind was sharp to the very end and she could be counted on to identify people in old photos and decipher the often complicated family connections with ease. We will miss her guiding light and the wealth of information that we've lost with her passing. Betty was born in High Bank on January 12, 1930, daughter of the late Norman C. and Sarah Ann (MacKay) Stewart. Survived by children, Elizabeth (Bill), Malcolm Jr. (Rita), David (Ann Marie), Ted (Paula), Cheryl (Randy), Kathy (Barry) and Donnie; fifteen cherished grandchildren, Ashtyn, Rachael, Dustin, Meghan, Leah, Riley, Ricky, Jocelyn, Mandy, Stewart, Braydon, Colby, Josh, Keira and DJ; two adored great-grandchildren, Dawson and Hallie and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by sons-in-law, Ricky and Boyd; siblings, Lawrence, Sadie (Bell/MacLean), Jessie Mae (Bell), Malcolm Norman, Laughlin, Evelyn (Machon), William, Janet, Mary (White/MacDonald) and Norman and brother-in-law, Floyd MacLean, as well as their respective spouses. Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 1 p.m. Interment to take place in Little Sands Cemetery with reception and refreshments to follow at the church hall behind the Harbourview Restaurant (1273 Main Street, Murray Harbour).
