Lourenso, Carlos It is with deepest sadness that we announce the recent passing of Carlos Silva Lourenso at the age of 61 years. He is survived by his wife, Sharon. He was the beloved father of son, Alex (Danika) and daughter, Cristina. He was the caring son of father, Mario and late mother, Gloria; and much beloved brother of George (Monica). He was also a caring uncle to his nephews and a niece, Jamie, Joey, Mindy, Mathew, Cody, Anthony and Damien. Carlos was born in Portugal but moved to Canada with his family when he was a year and a half. In 1995, he and his wife moved to Prince Edward Island where they started their family and settled into the peaceful island life. Carlos loved food, especially his lobster. He also loved music of all genres and was an avid piano player and dabbled with the guitar. He enjoyed volunteering as a coach and manager for many soccer and hockey teams. He was also a great storyteller and loved to make others laugh. Carlos had a long career with Veterans Affairs Canada, starting out as an area councilor, where he loved to visit with Veterans and hear their stories. He always made sure to support them in any way he could. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Belvedere Funeral Home Reception Center on Wednesday, September 11th, from 12-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carlos' memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of PEI or the PEI Humane Society, charities which he supported and volunteered for. Messages of condolence to Carlos's family can be left on his web page at: www.belvederefh.com
