John Joseph VICTOR — Cardigan

VICTOR, John Joseph Age 78, of Cardigan, PEI, passed away in Montague Hospital on September 2, 2024. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Gladys Irene Victor (McDow) and the late Nelson Joseph Victor. John joined the Army at a very young age and left Nova Scotia for Alberta. On leaving the Army he worked for Russell Steele until 1978 when he moved back to Nova Scotia. John worked for Volvo for 20 years until the plant closed at the end of 1998. In 1999 he moved to PEI – there he drove truck and worked at the Georgetown fish plant for a few years until he retired. John was a trout fisherman at heart and he had many great memories of his Newfoundland trips with his buddies including Danny Crowell and Bill Williams. John proudly wore a Detroit Tigers ball cap and a Detroit Red Wings t-shirt. He was a curler in his younger years and he also liked to watch football from time to time. John is survived by his brothers, Raymond (Barb) East Lawrencetown, David (Sheila Blackett) and Bernard, Montague, PEI; sister, Coleen Jenkins (Robert), Little Pond, PEI; Aunt, Bernice MacEachern (McDow), Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his, parents Gladys and Nelson Victor; his stepfather, Wilfred Victor; and his brothers, Eric and Leo. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
