MacKenzie, Joyce Peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and friends, Joyce MacKenzie, of Charlottetown and formerly of Harrington, PEI, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 20th, 2024. Joyce was the wife of the late Wendell MacKenzie, and loving mother of Wendy Younker (Frank Toole) and Shelly MacKenzie (Thane Adams, deceased). Joyce was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Chappell Warren (McCabe), of Breadalbane, PEI. Joyce will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Earl Stewart (Brianne), Jessica Campbell (David), Jennifer Axworthy (Chris), Howard Axworthy, Lindsey Brookins and George Brookins (Tanya); and step-grandchildren, Bobby Toole (Krista), Ryan Toole (Robyn), and Jennifer Toole; Jarod Adams (Kristy) and Joee Adams (Jaime); and her 20 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are her brothers, Earl Chappell (Melba) and Raymond Chappell; sister-in-law, Doris MacKenzie; stepsister, Barb Tenthtorey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Wanda Sanderson (Sidney); brother, Billy Chappell (Lois), Parents-in-law, Frank and Gwen MacKenzie; brother-in-law, George MacKenzie; and stepfather William Warren. Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. The Funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, Milton, on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the St. John's Anglican Church cemetery following the service. The family would like to sincerely thank PEI Homecare, to all the employees behind the scenes for providing unwavering support over the last few months.
