Almon "Cecil" GODFREY — North Wiltshire

Godfrey, Almon "Cecil" Passed away peacefully at his residence on October 11, 2024, at the age of 84 years in North Wiltshire. He was the son of the late Warburton and Rena (Boswall) Godfrey. He was the husband of Machiko Fujii; father of Debbie Godfrey (Glenn Johnston), Carol (Jerry) Heartz, Barbie Godfrey, Paul Godfrey (Jennifer DeCoursey), Jennie (Stephen) Mutch; grandfather of Kyra (Jay) Sinclair, Kurt Johnston (Riley Plommer), Jeremy Heartz, Sydney Godfrey, Clark Godfrey, Meredith Mutch and John Mutch; and brother of Don (Anne) Godfrey and Fairlie (Eddie) Gallant. He will also be remembered by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Cecil took over the family farm, which he named Blue Hill Farm. He raised beef cattle, swine and sheep and won numerous prizes at livestock exhibitions across Canada. He also grew potatoes and even dabbled in horse racing with Blue Hill King. He farmed until an accident at 67 years old, with many memories of countless accomplishments and accolades, good times, and good friends that came as a result of his many decades in the farming industry of P.E.I. After retirement, he enjoyed getting together with family and friends, playing cards, reading and watching hockey in the hopes of another Stanley Cup for The Leafs! The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the Provincial Integrated Palliative Care Program for their care and compassion and to the Canadian Red Cross for prompt equipment support. Cecil will also be sadly missed by his card friends at the Cotton Centre in Stratford and the Jack Blanchard Centre in Charlottetown. There will be no service or visiting hours by personal request. A gathering will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 2-4 p.m. at Cecil's late residence (1429 RTE 225, North Wiltshire). Please feel free to drop by and share your memories. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Program or the Canadian Red Cross. "Miss you, Cecil. If you have time, come to visit us in our dreams"
