Beverly O'KEEFE (DIXON) — Charlottetown

Beverly O'KEEFE (DIXON) — Charlottetown

O'Keefe (Dixon), Beverly Of Charlottetown, passed peacefully into the arms of the angels on Friday, September 27, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, always making Jack laugh, and an amazing, supportive mother who put everyone's needs ahead of her own. She is fondly remembered as a dear sister-in-law; a funny and special aunt; cousin; and a loyal friend. Beverly was born to the late Howard and Rita (MacDonald) Dixon on April 18, 1945 in Fortune, PE. A little over three years ago, she lost her beloved husband, Jack, after 53 years of marriage. They met at Souris High School and from that time, one never seemed to be without the other. It is a blessing to know they are now together again. Beverly is survived by their two children, Jacqueline O'Keefe (René Wolfe) and Sean (Alaina) O'Keefe. Her two grandchildren, Alexandra Wolfe and Emerson O'Keefe, loved and cherished their grandmother who they called "Mom" and "Nannie." She was very proud of all Alexandra and Emerson accomplished and loved to go their basketball and hockey games. Beverly is lovingly remembered by her sister, Pauline (George Cantelo); brothers, Alan (Joyce), Sefton (Sandra) and sister-in-law, Joyce Dixon. She was predeceased by her brothers, Claude and Bernie and her sisters, Doris, Gloria, Joan, and infant sister, Lois. Beverly is also remembered by Jack's brothers and sisters, Donnie (Carole), Peggy (Joey MacDonald), Allan (Marcella) and Barbara (deceased). Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins all also have fond memories of Bev. Beverly graduated from the PEI Hospital School of Nursing in 1966, as a Registered Nurse. She continued nursing until she became a full-time mom, for which Sean and Jacqueline will be eternally grateful. Beverly always looked to help others. She volunteered at Jacqueline and Sean's schools and volunteered at the Confederation Centre and later with the Look Good Feel Better program. Jacqueline and Sean would like to thank Beverly's caregivers from Bayshore Home Health, whose extraordinary kindness and care allowed her to remain in the home she loved. A special thank you to Bev's friend, Kathleen MacDonald, who provided tremendous support to her. They would also like to thanks the PEI Home Care Team, the PEI COACH Program and the PEI Palliative Team for their wonderful care and compassion. Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home, with visitation on Wednesday October 2, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. The service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. and will be available for viewing via live stream by visiting Beverly's obituary at www.islandowned.ca.
