David Gerard LAPIERRE — Souris, PE

LaPierre, David Gerard Surrounded by his loving family at the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague, David "Slacky" Gerard LaPierre passed away peacefully on Friday, October 04, 2024, at the age of 64 years. He will be forever loved by his best friend and loving wife of 32 years, Rayna (nee Reeves) and will be remembered as a loving father to Stephen (Chantel) and Capri Dawson (Chad). Awaiting his arrival in Heaven was his youngest daughter, April Laine, who passed away in 1997. David was a loving and doting Pa to his three little men, Nolan LaPierre, Cayden LaPierre, and Callen Dawson. He is survived by his brother, Norman LaPierre of Souris and predeceased by his parents Harold and Gertrude LaPierre, brothers Joey, Bernie and Peter LaPierre, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Melvin and Connie Reeves. In addition, he will be missed by numerous brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, and his little furry nap buddy Sophie. Born on December 11, 1959, David was a long-time fisherman of 37 years out of Souris Harbour fishing many of those years with his wife and son aboard the 4 Sail. He encountered many life challenges in his younger years but was a hard worker and found his HOME and happy place with Rayna where together they raised their beautiful family. He enjoyed fishing, his many winter travels to the sunny south, his daily spins to the wharf, his Habs & Ti-Cats but most importantly his family and many friends. He loved being a Pa and enjoyed watching "the boys" many accomplishments in his short time with them. He will certainly be missed and forever loved. A visitation will take place at Dingwell Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. A private graveside services for family and friends will be held at the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Souris at a later date.
