Pineau, Elsie 1934 – 2024 Passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024 at the Prince Edward Home, aged 89 years. She was born in Rustico, PE on December 26, 1934 to the late Frank and Mary Gallant and was the dear wife of 70 years to the late Alban Pineau. Elsie is survived by her children, Edwin (Wanita), Cathy (Kelly Weger), Lynette (Mark Medgyesi) and Lane (Sherri); grandchildren, Carson Weger, Bethany and Dominik Pineau; and 11 nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by brothers, Christopher, Elmer, Peter and Leo; sisters, Bertha Cheverie and Eileen DeRoche; sisters-in-law, Louise Gallant and Kay Gallant; brothers-in-law, Omar Cheverie, Donald DeRoche; and one niece. Elsie was educated in Rustico and attended Notre Dame in Montreal for her teaching certificate. She started her teaching career at numerous one room schools locally and finished her teaching career at Stella Maris in North Rustico. Resting at Central Queens Funeral Home, New Glasgow. No visitation by request. The funeral will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. preceded by a receiving line at the Church from 10 a.m. Interment in the St. Augustine's Cemetery followed by a reception at the Cymbria Lions Club, Rustico. Special thanks to the staff of Valour Hall at the Prince Edward Home for their care provided to Elsie in her final years.
