Ross (Murphy), Holly Brenda The death occurred at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, of Holly Brenda Ross (Murphy), of Tyne Valley, aged 80, beloved wife of Bob Kernaghan. Holly was born in Summerside on August 4, 1944, daughter of the late Harold and Velma (MacDonald) Ross. Holly was a very conscientious and caring person, in her last days she expressed her hopes that she'd made a difference in some people's lives. In her younger days she was often to be found on volunteer committees or doing other small acts of kindness. She loved animals and children as can be seen in how she spent her time as a cub and scout leader in Ellerslie for over a decade, a member of the Athena Astronomy club, and often made donations of her time and resources for various causes including the PEI Humane Society and a long list of other charitable organizations. Her concern for others was still with her when all other earthly concerns had been left behind. Cherished mom to Ross (Lily) Murphy, Cochrane, AB; step-mother to Lisa Palmer and Sharon Moorecroft. Loving nanny to Alyssa; step nanny to Spencer, Emma, Krystal, Heather, John and Curtis. Dear sister to Randy Ross, Sherbrooke, Mike Ross (Mary Morrison), Summerside, Georgia (Roger) MacKinnon, Kensington, Nancy (Billy) Craig, Mill River, John Ross (Fay Senger), Summerside, Blye (Shane) Perry, Tyne Valley, Tim (Loretta) Ross, Mill River, Alexis Ross-Steeves (Tim Steeves), Summerside; and sister-in-law to Don (Pearl) Kernaghan, Stittsville, ON. Holly was predeceased by her parents and brothers in infancy, Claude, Blair and Paul. Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, no visiting hours or funeral at this time.
