Steele, Joseph Wilfred It is with much sadness that the family of Joseph "Wilfred" Steele announce his sudden, but peaceful passing at his residence in Goose River on Monday, October 21, 2024, one day before his 68th birthday. Wilfred will be forever loved by his wife of 31 years, Melinda (nee Noel). He is remembered as a loving father to Anita and Aaron, and a doting grandfather, "Pop," to Malcolm. He is survived by his siblings, Theresa (Bill) Lewis, Gerard (Muriel), and Mary; as well as numerous nephews and nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Wilfred is also survived by his mother-in-law, Maddie (Joe) Saunders; and brothers-in-law, Roland (Wanda) and John (Debbie) Noel. He was predeceased by baby Emma; parents, Ambrose and Effie (MacKinnon); and father-in-law, Allison Noel. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place at the Dr. Roddie Community Centre in St. Peter's Bay on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held in the St. Peter's Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peters, on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
