Lyriotokis, Michael Harold The death occurred suddenly on October 5, 2024, of Michael "Mike" Lyriotokis, age 69, dearly loved partner of Dina DesRoches. Mike died in one of his favourite places, the Earnscliffe Pheasant Preserve, doing what he loved with his dog China and his hunting friends around him. Mike is survived by his daughter, Sara; her husband, Steve; and his grandsons, Brayden and Harrison, whom he loved with all his heart. Peggi Lyriotokis, Sara's mother, predeceased Mike on September 22, 2024. Lovingly remembered by Mike's sister, Kerry Noble; his nephews and niece. Dina's mother, Norma DesRoches and her family will miss Mike and always remember him. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Germaine Lyriotokis; his sister, Michelle, and his nephew. Mike had many close friends whom he valued greatly, and they felt the same about him. He gave of himself for almost forty years in the helping profession and contributed immensely to many people's lives. He had great empathy for and ability to relate to children and enjoyed working with his co-workers, clients, and union members. He struggled with some health issues and would want his family and friends to remember him how he was when he was full of life. We will cherish the good times he shared with everyone—the teasing, laughing, stories, enjoying the outdoors, hunting birds, fishing trout, training dogs, watching football (Go Giants!), and loving everything about PEI. We will take comfort in knowing that he died doing what he loved. We are grateful for the hunters and first responders who worked to save him. Mike loved listening to music, and Warren Zevon's song Keep Me in Your Heart touched him deeply. Please listen to it and think of him. He would want us to carry on with our lives and take care of each other. Arrangements are entrusted to the Belvedere Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 9 from 4-7 p.m. His celebration of life will be held in the chapel on Thursday, October 10, at 10:30 a.m. Donations in Mike's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Mental Health Association, or KidSport PEI.
