Balcom, Sandra Lynn "Sandy" The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, of Sandra, "Sandy" Balcom (nee Shackleton), beloved wife of Greg Balcom, of North Rustico, aged 64. She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Eileen Shackleton. Sandy was the mother of Justin Strickland (Belleville, ON), Adam Balcom (North Rustico), and David Balcom (Oshawa, ON); and grandmother of Stephanie and Sophie Strickland; and James and Lillian Balcom. She is also be survived by her siblings, Sharron, Sue, Darla, and Phillip. Besides her parents, Douglas and Eileen, Sandy was predeceased by her brother, Paul Shackleton. Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow. There will be no visitation or funeral by personal request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
