Beloved husband of Roberta (nee Lappin) and loving father to children, Dawn (Stan), and Craig (Belinda). Survived by siblings, Barry MacPherson (Audrey), and Beverley Burke (Art deceased); sisters-in-law, Shannie Serbyn (Danny), Patsy Murphy (Joe), Kathleen Fava (Ron), Phyllis MacLennan (Brent), Mary Elaine MacCormac; and brothers-in-law, Barry Lappin (deceased) and Jim Lappin (Gwen). David is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his grandchildren, Olivia, Desmond, and Fion, who remember him as Wawa. David spent over 35 years dedicated to serving his community as a civil servant for the provincial government of PEI. As a student loan officer in the Department of Education, David touched the lives of countless students and families. He took immense pride in his work, finding joy in connecting with people and offering them guidance. David was a man of great warmth and humour, always ready with a quick wit or a one-liner to bring a smile to others. He was happiest surrounded by family, friends, and laughter, finding any excuse for a gathering. His outgoing personality made him a natural in social settings, where he thrived on making connections and sharing stories. An avid fisherman and golfer, David also had a deep love for travel. With Roberta by his side, he explored the world, from Europe's picturesque river cruises to the sun-soaked shores of Florida, where they sometimes spent the winter months. He was also committed in his retirement to regular meet ups with his fellow golfers and friends. David often summed up life with the phrase, "It's quite a country," a sentiment that reflects his appreciation for the people, places, and experiences that filled his remarkable life. David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering love for those around him. The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Home and Unit 8 at the QEH, and doctors, Dr. Rob Kelly and Dr. Daniel Costa.
