MacArthur, Doug On November 12, 2024, Doug MacArthur of Charlottetown, more recently of Georgetown, died peacefully at QEH of leukemia. He leaves behind his wife, Bev, of 52 years; son, Jeff (daughters, Jaden and Grey), son, David; and daughter, Amber (son, Ash). He is also survived by his sister, Brenda O'Regan. He was predeceased many years ago by his father, Charles MacArthur and more recently by his mother, Eve MacArthur (Driggs). Doug was in charge of the Federal aspect of the Irving and Community Development Sectors of the PEI Comprehensive Development Plan back in the 1970s and then went on to a consulting career working in many countries around the world. He was CEO of agricultural, fisheries, building products, and environmental strategic alliances where he did work on site in more than 60 countries. In 2021, Doug and Bev moved to Georgetown but continued their annual snowbird pilgrimages to Florida and Portugal until leukemia suddenly hit earlier this year. The funeral service will take place at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel in Charlottetown on Saturday, November 16, at 1 p.m. with the interment happening immediately afterwards at St. David's Cemetery in Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, donations to the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre are appreciated, and they can be designated through a donation to the QEH Foundation online. Doug thoroughly enjoyed life and lived it to the maximum. His guiding mantra was to never complain and to "go with the flow."
